Gym Chic: Fashion Sweatshirts!

Gisele Bündchen.
With names like Givenchy and Kenzo taking on the look - and the style set throughly embracing it - the sweatshirt has officially become a high-fashion staple. Here some of my faves that relegate its more humble roots utterly obsolete:

Kenzo. Appliquéd printed sweatshirt, $445.

Givenchy. Patchwork print sweatshirt, $1,440.

Chanel's Dallas Extravaganza

Chanel took its Métiers d'Art show to Dallas last wednesday  - and the show, and the surroundings, were exactly as Texan as you might have hoped. Staged in the city's Fair Park, the event was divided into three parts. A "drive-in" screening of the new Chanel short film The Return, written and directed by Karl Lagerfeld, saw celebrity guests climb into vintage cars - including the spectacle of Anna Wintour, André Leon Talley and Lagerfeld squeezing into a convertible together.
"I love Dallas. I love Texans. They are the nicest of people," Lagerfeld told Dallas News. "Texas is wild, but I made it more romantic."
The catwalk show came next - with models including native Texan Erin Wasson taking to the catwalk in cowboy fringing and Navajo weaves galore - before guests headed to the after-party, with some (step forward Dakota Fanning) joking that they couldn't wait to get out of their dresses to enjoy some local cuisine. Here are some of my favorite looks:

Beyoncé

For those of you that haven’t already caught wind, last week Beyoncé dropped a surprise self entitled 5th studio album. The currently reigning queen of the pop universe not only released her album in an unorthodox fashion but the album itself is more of a visual journal than your traditional album –each song accompanied by video giving life to the raw emotion and passion she embodies and infecting us beyondé the sonic level.

The ground breaking album has already sold 828,773 digital units via itunes in just 3 days making it the fastest selling album in the US, ever. When asked what inspired this all her reply was, “I’m bored”, referring to the current standard for releasing music, “I feel like I’m able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans.” She truly is an inspiration and the album, which features Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, and last but not least Blu Ivy is nothing short of complete and masterful.

How to wear: Leather pants!

A few years ago, a great pair of leather pants was hard to come by. Now, thankfully, every designer and brand is making a different version of the perfect pair. Here, our favorite ways to wear them, inspired by the street and the runway — plus options for every budget.

1. Wear them lose: LA ladies will love the looser cuts, which work better in warm climates and give off a casual cool vibe.

Style it with:

 T by Alexander Wang. Jersey T-Shirt, 80.
Nars. Semi Matte Lipstick, $26.
Aquazzura. Amazon Elaphe Sandals, $795.

2. Wear them like leggins: A pair of ultra-skinny leather pants will be your go-to during the winter months for work, weekend or a night out.

Style it with:

Mango. Pinstripe Blazer, $130.
Zara. High Heel Court Shoe, $100.
Tom Ford. Nail Lacquer in Viper, $32.

3. Wear them biker style: If you want something in your closet that'll add instant edge, opt for a pair of leather pants with zippers or a moto-inspired cut.

Style it with:

Equipment. Ghost Plaid Blouse, $248.
Sam Edelman. Margo Ankle Boots, $200.
Le Metier de Beaute. Precision Liquid Liner, $42.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - one of the biggest and most expensive extravaganzas on the style calendar - took place in New York last wednesday.
A riot of colours, crystals and jaw-dropping costumes, this year's show took birds of paradise, a British invasion and Parisian nights as its themes with 40 models parading down the catwalk and a multitude of wings. A star-studded affair, the big names weren't only bedecked in lingerie - live entertainment came courtesy of Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy and A Great Big World, while from the front row Valentino Garavani, Olivia Palermo and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld watched on.
On the catwalk, Malaika Firth and Josephine Skriver made their debuts, while veteran Angels Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima were back. Life Editorials by Martin Vallin!

I just find out the stunning editorials of Martin Vallin, I love how he make luxury accessories — shoes, bags, jewelry — seem more like priceless art objects from a museum. Creating unexpected juxtapositions of shapes, styles, and textures, Vallin puts creativity and whimsicality back into still-life. He clearly comes from a surrealist point of view and isn’t afraid to break rules when it comes to composition and color, making almost collage-like images that have character and tell a story.
